How to disable the double tap zoom feature in Edge?

I'm somehow triggering this thing constantly and it's absolutely driving me nuts

Thanks, Pim

    Hello,

We like to make sure you get the most out of our Microsoft Edge on Surface. Any feedback and suggestions on how we can improve our service will be very much appreciated. Please go to 'Send feedback' section under the (. . .)  of your Microsoft Edge.

    Regards.

The only direct link (that I'm aware) to report issues direct to MS software development is through partner/vendor channels which we as end users do not have access to.  Forums are moderated by help personnel whose general purpose is to guide people through common issues and report potential bugs.  We're asking for a change in design behavior.  I'm no spring chicken: MS doesn't make design changes willy nilly.  And for all we know there is some technical/licensing/patent related reason keeping them from adding a UI setting to allow us to disable this.  I continue to use IE over edge because of this behavior which gets in the way/slows down "power surfing".   Websites refusing to load in IE, redirecting to a page stating that I need to upgrade to a 'modern browser' to access the site are becoming more frequent, however.   I would have probably switched to firefox a long time ago but FFs handling of graphics memory makes for a 'choppy' experience on my particular laptop, but IE runs smooth.  So does Edge, the single reason I don't use Edge is due to this behavior which constantly zooms when I don't want it to and is more frustrating than anything.

This problem has been reported for a few years now.

Microsoft is fully aware but chooses not to respond.

with previous IE we were able to work around using a script in the accessibility configuration.

With Edge we can't seem to address the matter.

Why is Microsoft so tone deaf to the needs of the customer base?

their lack of concern disheartening. So sad
