Thanks for sharing this, Hunter! Something that loads with Excel is crashing it (add-in, profile, graphics, registry, or corrupted startup file).
Try to disable Excel’s hidden startup locations
Even if add-ins look disabled, Excel still loads files from startup folders.
Do this exactly:
Press Win + R
Paste:
%appdata%\Microsoft\Excel\
Delete or move these folders if they exist:
-
XLSTART - Any
.xlam,.xlsm,.xlsxfiles inside
Then also check:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\XLSTART
(or Program Files (x86) if 32-bit)
Reboot and test Excel normally.
