What does it mean that Copilot is now in my Office license?

Whenever I get into OneNote (and I think Word) I get a popup telling me that Copilot is available for use with my Microsoft 365 subscription. I have the Microsoft 365 for Families Subscription. I am the primary user/owner, I know that it is available to me in a limited way. And not to anyone else in my family unless I pay the $20/person/month.

What I want to know is what does this Copilot in OneNote do for me with y subscription? Is it something that I have to use/pay for without ever approving it for use? On my budget, paying for more with my Microsoft 365 for Families isn't in my budget.

With your Microsoft 365 for Families subscription, Copilot in OneNote provides you with AI-powered assistance to enhance your note-taking experience. Specifically, Copilot can help you create, capture, organize, and recall information more effectively. It can assist in drafting plans, generating ideas, creating lists, and organizing your notes based on your prompts.

Regarding the availability and usage of Copilot, you do not have to pay extra for it as it is included in your subscription. However, the functionality might be limited compared to the full capabilities available with a Microsoft 365 Copilot add-on license, which is typically aimed at business users. You can use Copilot without needing to approve it for use, as it is part of your existing subscription.

If you are concerned about additional costs, rest assured that using Copilot in OneNote does not incur extra charges beyond your current subscription fee.
