    Hi Gregy6,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

It sounds like you're having trouble getting audio to work through the USB-C port on your Surface Duo, whether you're using a USB-C to 3.5mm dongle or USB-C wired headphones. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

    • Restart the Device: Restart your Surface Duo to see if that resolves the issue. Sometimes a simple reboot can fix hardware detection problems.
    • Test with Other Apps: Try playing audio through different apps (e.g., YouTube, Spotify, etc.) to see if the issue is consistent across all apps.
    • Clear Cache (for specific apps): If the issue is happening with specific apps, try clearing the app cache. Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > See all apps > [Select the app] > Storage & cache > Clear cache.
    • As a last resort, consider resetting your Surface device to see if that resolves any software conflicts causing the issue. Reset Surface Duo to factory settings - Microsoft Support

If none of these steps resolve the issue, there might be a hardware problem with the USB-C port or the

    accessories you're using.

    Your Sincerely
