Hi Garabet A. Topalian Rivas
Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.
Based on the description you posted, it seems that you have an issue with Surface book 3 wherein the USB-C port is not working properly. This may be caused by the cable compatibility issue, or the USB-C itself.
Let’s work together in finding the best solution to this issue. To get started I will ask a few questions to further fix the issue.
- Is this working before, or has this been happening since you got the device?
- When you try to charge the device, did you use USB-C to USB-C cable directly connect to the adaptor to the wall outlet?
- Did you try to connect another USB-C device like USB-C flash driver or external drive it will work?
We will do some basic troubleshooting steps to further fix the issue.
- Make sure that the USB-C cable you're using is compatible with your Surface Book 3. Some cables may not work properly with certain devices.
- Check for any updates for your Surface Book 3. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click on "Check for updates."
- Try resetting the USB-C port. To do this, shut down your Surface Book 3, disconnect all peripherals, and hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Then, release the power button and turn on your device.
- If still not working, we will download and run the Surface diagnostic toolkit on your surface Book 3. This will help us fix any hidden issue on the Surface device.
- After we will be going to going to download the driver pack on your Surface Book 3.
- Once the download is complete, please click the driver pack to install on your Surface and once the installation is complete, please restart the Surface device to apply changes.
- After restart the Surface, test again the USB-C using the correct cable in charging USB-C to USB direct connect to the adaptor going to the wall outlet. The USB-C to USB-A adapter will not work in charging.
