For us to help you resolve the situation wherein the WiFi connection drops when the lid is closed, can you tell us if you already checked the setting for Lid close action. If not ,here's how:
- In the search box on the taskbar, type control panel, and then select Control Panel.
- Choose Hardware and Sound.
- Click Power Options.
- Under Selected plan, click Change plan settings.
- Then click Change advanced power settings and a small window will open.
- Inside the small window, expand Power buttons and lid.
- and then expand Lid close action.
Under On battery and Plugged in, change it to "Do nothing".
Restart the device to make sure the changes take place (don't shutdown and reboot).
Reconnect the device to the docking station, then close the lid and check if the WiFi connection would behave the same way.
