Android DND Teams Exception Does Not Work

I have added Ms Teams to the list of applications that are exempt from DND, yet when someone calls me on Teams, I only ever receive a silent pop-up notification on my screen, with a 'Ding' sound, instead of a ringtone notification. For Info, the other applications in the exemption list are Reminders and Alarms and they both work fine - perhaps because they are Samsung's own applications. I am on the latest version of Ms Teams (1416/1.0.0.2022404601/1104) as well as Android (13). I have tried logging out and logging back in, clearing app cache data, and even uninstalling Teams and reinstalling it but nothing has resolved the issue. I am using a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.

In some cases, Android devices or third-party apps can block Microsoft Teams from sending notifications. Here's how to troubleshoot issues with the Repair Team in the Android app.
First, prioritize notifications from Teams.

Open the Settings app.
Tap Apps.
Select Teams.
Under App Setting, tap Notifications.
Toggle on Set as priority.

Then, exclude Teams from battery optimization.

Open the Settings app.
Tap Device management.
Select Battery.
Tap Unmonitored apps.
Add Teams to the list.

Thanks for your help SokiGuo-MSFT. Do not see the 'Set as priority' option so could not try that but have excluded Teams from Battery Optimisation and the issue persists. I did however, enable the 'Appear on Top' option in notification settings - assuming it was similar to prioritising Teams notifications.

Hi,
Due to the limitation of environment, we could not test in your same environment. Does anyone else have the same phenomenon in your organization?
I tested it on other Android devices, and the notification ringtone changed in my phone's settings. You also need to turn on notifications for Teams.

Yes, reported this to my Infra/Network team and they saw the same behaviour and could not work out why it was happening. They thought it may be a Teams bug where it is not successfully bypassing the Android DND mode, when granted an exception. Yes, notifications are on, on my device for teams. After further research, it was found that many Samsung users have the same problem. This thread you can refer to: Receiving Calls on Android not ringing
Also, in order to solve this problem as soon as possible, this is a feedback in Teams UserVoice and you could vote for it. Many features of our current products are designed and upgraded based on customers’ feedback. With requirements like this increase, the problem may well be released in the future. I have similar issues with Teams on my smartphone - in the DND mode if I put the Teams as an exception I get the silent pop up without ringing if someone is calling me. Same for my wife. We have set the Teams to allow to run in background mode in battery saver customizing and put the Teams to show over other applications and turned on the notifications while the dnd mode. My smartphone is OnePlus 12 pro and my wife has OnePlus 10 pro. Android version is 16. Teams version is 1416/1.0.0.2025204802
